Putting images in a module table and make them show up in the database viewtable and edit screen. They also have to show in a modal popup screen when the tabledata in the modal popup contains images.

Images are normally used as a good way to display information that is hard to discribe with words. That's why you would put photographs or drawings in your application. Visual Data's JumpStart DNN offers the possibility to incorporate illustrations in any datatable. The images will show up in the modal popup screens that are associated with any datatable.
Visual Data's JumpStart DNN uses two folders (or directories) that holds the imagefiles: The main imagefile will be stored in the "Dossiers" folder and a thumbnail imagefile will be stored in a subsequent "Thumbnails" folder, all in the "Portals##\..." folder.
These folders are created when a module is launched for the first time.

Just add this extention to a datafield that holds the URL to the path to the imagefile. The tables "Activity" and "Officers" are linked to each other. They both have a modal popup to the acomanied table.
#1: Open your DatabaseBuilder and open the "Activity" tab and add a new datatable field called: ActivityImageURL
Then locate the _IMG extention on the new fieldname and tick the box on that.

This will make the module able to store the imageURL and show the image thumbnail in the viewtable and show the big image in the edit screen.
To enable the image to show in a modal popupscreen, just tick the extentions that are needed to implement the modal popup. See the lesson on modal popups for explanation. For now: tick the modal popup extentions for the "Officers" datafields.

The _PPFVW and _LNK combination take care of the modal popup to show on the Activity table, the _PPP and _INQ combination make these fields show in the popupscreen on the Officers editscreen.

#2: open the "Officers" tab and add a new datatable field called: OfficerPortraitURL and tick the _IMG extention on that tablefield.

Then make the modal popup work by ticking the extentions on that.

Install the modules in your portal. If you have these modules already present, than you have to erase the existing ones prior to installing the new modules.
Fill the tables with the content before the links can be establised.

You're done with this lesson.
